I took the bike out yesterday for a run into Easenhall, it’s
a bit too far to walk and uphill (aren’t they always).
A pleasant little ride, apart from the cars, with some
wonderful country views on the route.
It’s a small pretty village but nothing outstanding, this
property at the beginning of the village must have some lovely views from the
turret.
A single thatched cottage.
And a very small split village green.
Although the pub get’s a good review in my Pearson’s guide I
didn’t venture in.
Back on the boat and late afternoon I heard a very
distinctive thumping engine sound; I looked out of the side hatch and couldn’t
see anything but it continued for some time until eventually around the bend
appeared this boat.
I am no expert but I imagine it was a coal fired steam engine;
it was certainly ‘smoking’ J
It really looked good though, it was puffing out big smoke
rings but sadly the camera didn’t pick those up. I was so amazed I didn't even catch the name to try and research it.
Today I intended to bike into Brinklow but for some reason decided against it.

There have been a few sunny breaks but none lasting more
than a few minutes, let's hope it's dryer tomorrow.
