Bradford on Avon

On Sunday I had a visit from my mate Andy and his wife Lynne, after a look around the boat and a cuppa we walked the half mile or so to the lock and had lunch at 'The Canal Tavern', I forgot to take any pictures, it was lovely to see you both, but I won't ramble on...... :-)

Monday I intended moving but I had some problems with the laptop which took rather longer than I expected to resolve. So it was at 10:15 this morning when I set off to try and moor nearer the town, and I found a spot just before the lock so here I am for now, it's another 48 hour mooring.

An alert from C&RT arrived to say a boat has badly damaged a lock and the gate on the Caen Hill flight so the whole flight is closed until repairs can be completed, 16th July earliest, terrible for the holiday makers and hire companies but not much can be done about it. I heard from Karl that it has resulted in a major traffic jam at Devizes and I assume at Sells Green as well.

I took a walk around and up and down (it's hilly!) Bradford on Avon, a lovely area with much to look at, here's my selection:
I think I went up the wrong side of town to get a view down but here it is
I wasn't prepared to try the other side as well.
I may move on tomorrow subject to weather and mood.
