Cosgrove

Haversham Weir
Looked like fun
I had a wander around Stanton Low on Saturday, some lovely walking alongside The River Great Ouse and around the lake home to Haversham sailing club.

Dinner would come close enough

and the ruins of  St Peters Church built in the 12th century and soon to undergo repairs and conservation, unfortunately it’s all fenced off and not easy to photograph but here is the notice:

Back at the boat I decided to take some rest on the towpath with my Kindle and a glass of fruit squash
Negative comments on the hat will not be posted !
Saturday was the only sunny day, Friday it had rained all day and Sunday was not good either raining all morning.

The New Inn at New Bradwell
Approaching the aqueduct over Grafton Street
Quiet on the dual carriageway beneath me.
Street Art approaching Wolverton
Today I moved off intending just to nip along to Wolverton and stop overnight, do some shopping tomorrow and then move to Cosgrove on Wednesday, but I did not like the look of Wolverton at all, with a railway close by, flats overlooking or quite high trees lining the moorings.
Iron Trunk Aqueduct over the river Ouse
Towpath side
So I have moved onto Cosgrove.
Unfortunately my brain was not in gear and I forgot I needed provisions so it looks like either a round boat trip tomorrow or a walk back to Wolverton, I will decide in the morning, I did walk along to the small store on the caravan park by Cosgrove lock to get bread and milk so I am not desperate.

It looks lovely here but it is very windy at the moment, I hope that dies down before bedtime, the boat opposite me has a wind generator and he’s on a residential mooring so maybe it’s always blowy along this section.

I am going to be here at least a week, visitors expected at the weekend J
