Project update.

Yesterday I moved the fridge to it's new location, that's simple enough you're probably thinking, but don't forget it's a narrowboat!

When I bought Quinquireme it had a 240v fridge, I changed it to a 12v one last year, 12v fridges suffer badly if the voltage drops at all, so I ran a dedicated pair of 10mm multistrand cables from the battery bank across the engine bay and down the side of the boat beneath the gunnel to its location in the galley. I now needed that supply on the opposite side of the boat. Pulling the cables back out and re-running them was mostly easy, apart from stuff/furniture moving, but getting inside the boat from the engine bay presents problems when you are on your own trying to feed the cables through holes that don't line up and across cupboards that are too small to get your head in properly but after a few hours perseverence I achieved the result I needed.

This morning I decided to move the washing machine, again a lot of the time taken is in moving stuff around to gain access to various things and give you room to work. Now if you've ever moved a washing machine you will know they are not light, I have a weak back, I needed to lift the machine above the bath to get it out of the very restricted bathroom, oh what fun, at one point I was wedged against the wall balancing the machine on the bath edge but not daring to move further until I had regained the ability to breathe, anyway again I got there in the end. I had some luck as I thought I was going to have to lengthen the waste hose or move the outlet but it reached so all was well. I altered the cold feed pipework and tested for leaks. Another target achieved.
As was.
And now.

Now I need to rest my back a while and I will probably move on tomorrow to have a change of scenery before I start work on the second corner cupboard.
